Small handmade figurines, called "Martisor", are displayed at the Romanian Peasant's Museum during the "Martisor Fair" in Bucharest February 28, 2008. According to Romanian tradition, men offer women little pieces of jewelry hanging on red and white strings, symbolizing good cheer and hope for love and happiness on the first day of spring which is celebrated in Romania on March 1.
