These two gentlemen kindly welcomed me into a little party that was going on in the village museum. The little cups contain a magical elixir—the potent plum brandy called ţuica. If you read anything about Romania you know of this stuff and this was my first taste. Don't get the idea that Manole, on the left, is a two fisted drinker. He's holding mine while I fumble around with the camera. Along with the ţuica the little stuffed cabbage sarmale were served. The event being celebrated here has to do with the house in the background. It was brought in from the country to the museum and in it the gentleman on the right was born.
