I'm on my second layover as I work my way east. Amsterdam is a bustling and very secure airport. I lost count of the number of times I had to remove my belt and shoes. I admire the Dutch for the direct warnings about this noxious addiction. In the USA we quietly tell people that they are harming themselves because we wouldn't want to upset the tobacco industry. As the addict decides to "Celebrate his Taste" in Amsterdam, he can't claim that he wasn't warned—unless he doesn't read English. |
